Step 1 – Analysis: Along with a full inspection of your electrical system Energy Smart will install energy monitoring hardware capable of tracking your buildings overall energy use as well as your heavy-use electrical loads in real time. After collecting 12-months of Data, we will conduct an in-depth analysis to review your energy consumption patterns, total and aggregate power demands, and equipment usage breakdowns.
Step 2- Adjustments: Using your actual operating data Energy Smart will generate a report outlining our recommendations to improve system efficiency and power quality while decreasing your electric bill.
Adjustment Examples:
- (Save $4,140/ Year) Assuming your usage patterns remain the same, changing from Duke Energy’s General Service rate schedule to a Time of Use Demand rate schedule should save you 23% annually on your electric bills.
- (Save $47.52/ Year, SAFETY CONCERN!) The feeder wire between the Main Distribution Panel and the Sub Panel Feeding the Rooftop Air-Conditioning Units is undersized causing the conductor to reach temperatures in excess of its terminal ratings. Increasing the wire gauge from #3/0 AWG to #4/0 AWG will improve the safety of the installation, increase the energy efficiency, and extend the work life of all rooftop units.
